Localizzare un computer rubato grazie a LocatePC

Purtroppo i furti di computer rappresentano un fenomeno in costante aumento, tanto che ormai ogniqualvolta ci si sposta portandosi appreso il proprio notebook ci si vede costretti a tenerlo costantemente sotto controllo in maniera quasi paranoica! Se pensate che stia esagerando è sufficiente che proviate un po’ di volte di seguito a lasciarlo sul sedile dell’auto mentre sostate in Autogrill oppure ad appoggiarlo un attimo per terra mentre salite su un taxi… Potrete constatare in prima persona come non dovrà passare molto tempo prima di vedere il vostro prezioso strumento di lavoro prendere letteralmente il volo!

Un computer rubato provoca un danno enorme non tanto per il valore dell’hadware in sé, quanto (almeno il più delle volte) per l’importanza dei dati in esso contenuti (email, documenti, credenziali, utenze e password,…). LocatePC è una piccola applicazione gratuita che, se installata e configurata preventivamente nel vostro PC, può darvi una speranza in più di poter recuperare o rintracciare il vostro computer rubato; infatti questo piccolo software è in grado di intercettare ogni cambiamento dell’indirizzo IP associato al computer e di inviarvi una mail preconfigurata contenente sia tutti i dati relativi al computer (modello, numero di serie,…), sia un traceroute che può consentire alle forze dell’ordine di identificare attraverso l’ ISP l’utenza che ha utilizzato il computer per accedere a Internet.
