Speeding up the shutdown of Windows
You will surely noticed that the time of shutdown of Windows (as well as those startup) tend to become longer as time passes. This sort of gradual decrease of speed is related to many factors, not least with the number of applications installed and running.
Fortunately there are opportunities to reduce the time of shutdown simply by changing certain values timeout at the registry keys: start the registry editor through the command "regedit" and proceed as follows:
- Find the folder 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop' and change the value of the keys WaitToKillAppTimeout and HungAppTimeout bringing a '1000';
- Find the folder 'HKEY_USERS \. DEFAULT \ ControlPanel \ Desktop' and change the value of the keys' WaitToKillAppTimeout 'and' HungAppTimeout 'bringing in' 1000 ';
- Find the folder 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Control' and change the value of key 'WaitToKillServiceTimeout' bringing in '1000'.
