How to keep the programs installed under Windows
On Windows there is no centralized system to take control and manage automatic updates of the various programs installed: normally the only viable solution is to remember to periodically check the official websites of various manufacturers to see if updates are available.
Since this method of control is inconvenient and annoying, I have decided to present a couple of tools that help to compensate for this problem: Appupdater and Filehippo.
Appupdater will certainly be appreciated by those who are accustomed to working on Debian or Ubuntu. E 'is a software that draws heavily all'utility Linux apt-get: once installed is called from the command line with the following options:
- "Appupdater-update" download the list of applications available.
- "Appupdater-list" shows the list of applications for which it is able to handle the update.
- "Appupdater-available" shows lal list of applications available.
- "Appupdater PKG-install" make the download and installation of a package on the list of those available
- "Appupdater-upgrade download and update all the new releases available for packages supported.
- "Appupdater-remove PKG" uninstall a specific package.

On the official site is available is the complete manual that the list of packages supported.
Filehippo.com Update Checker is a small client of only 100kb that you install in just 2 seconds. Once started making a scanning system by examining all versions of the software, then send in anonymous information gathered from its filehippo.com server that will display on your browser to a page with a list of any available updates. Note that Filehippo.com Update Checker requires that your computer is contained on Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0.

Tried to Filehippo, truly exceptional. With a few clicks I was updated several programs that I did not know that you have so old (bearing in mind that some had security problems ...)
