3 tips for safe speed Windows XP
Systems and tricks to speed up Windows XP, there are many in circulation, which usually consist in the use of special (and more or less valid) tools optimization / defragmentation or changes in the manual (and often risky) to the registry .
In this article, however we will see how we can achieve a significant increase in performances with only 3 simple changes (completely reversible and without side effects) of the default Windows XP, without having to install / use any particular tool.
- Deleting File Swap.
If you have at least 3.5/4GB of RAM you can delete the swap file of Windows. This will drastically reduce operations in memory that strain the operating system to rely entirely on RAM to avoid paging to disk:- Open the Control Panel and select "System"
- access to the tab "Advanced" and in "Performance" click "Settings"
- within the tab "Advanced" section identified the "Virtual Memory" and click "Change"
- 's unit "C" select the "No paging file" and apply the change by clicking on the button "Set"
- reboot your computer
- Disable Indexing Service files.
The Indexing Service files is to speed the search for files in your computer, but to work requires a considerable amount of system resources. Obviously the side effect of his disabled will be a decrease in performance research: what you see that you can actually cause any inconvenience. To see how it behaves and responds with your computer indexing disabled proceed as follows:- From "My Computer" click the right button on drive C: and select "Properties"
- Unselect the checkbox "Index disc for a more rapid Files"
- Removal of visual effects.
If you think you can live without many special effects (which are among the main culprits in the consumption of system resources) you can disable them by following these steps:- Open the Control Panel and select "System"
- access to the tab "Advanced" and in "Performance" click "Settings"
- Within the tab "Visual effects" select the "Rule in order to obtain the best performance"

Just a note, 32bit Windows XP does not support more than 3GB of RAM so the first trick is useful only for a 64bit OS.
In this case it put the swap file but define a custom size a little less than twice the ram system. In this way creates the Windows once and for all and you can use a utility like Page Defrag to defragment and compact it. In this way performance is improved significantly.
