I knew that existed under Linux games nice and fun, but I did not believe that arrived to the point of competing with the best 3D games are normally available for Windows!

Here's to you then the ranking by "Online Games" of the 10 best free 3D games available for Linux and many of them are cross-platform and playable in multiplayer mode!

1. America's Army
   
   America's Army is a tactical shooter multiplayer first-person property of the Government of the United States, distributed for free to promote the recruitment of new volunteers for the U.S. military. Its first version, called "Recon", dates back to July 4, 2002. The current version 2.8.2 was released in September 2007. America's Army is available for both Linux and Windows.
2. Tremulous
   
   Tremulous is a shooter similar to Gloom (a mod for Quake 2) and Natural Selection (a mod for Half-Life). In the game there are 2 kinds of people: humans and aliens, both with very specific characteristics and different. The game was downloaded more than 200,000 times and was voted "Player's Choice Standalone Game of the Year" in the "Mod of the Year" 2006.
3. Tux Racer
   
   Tux Racer is a 3D game simpaticissimo open source that has as its protagonist Tux the penguin. The purpose of the game is to comprise the best time doing slalom between the flags of different ski runs. Being open source, the game can be easily extended by creating new maps on which you can decide the position of obstacles, the type of surfaces and the slope of the track.
4. Nexuiz
   
   Nexuiz is a shooter open source license distributed under the GNU General Public License from Alientrap Software. The first version, issued in May 2005 was based on DarkPlaces, a modified version of the famous engine Quake.L 'latest 2.3 release dates to May 2007.
   Nexuiz is available for Linux, Mac and Windows.
5. Alien Arena 2007
   
   Alien Arena is a free shooter originally issued by COR Entertainment in 2004. E 'can play in "single player" against the bots even if the real fun is in multiplayer.
   Alien Arena 2007 includes a browser for internal cercre other players to compete online and chat software interface similar to IRC. Alien Arena 2007 is available for Linux, Windows and FreeBSD.

   Torcs simulator is a 3D racing between sports car based on OpenGL. It runs on Linux, FreeBSD, MacOSX and Windows. You can choose from 50 different cars, 20 tracks and 50 opponents. The multiplayer mode can support up to 4 players.
8. Frets On Fire
