The 10 best free antivirus

The competition between software house that produces antivirus software has become strong to the point that not to threaten to quit the market, increasingly the vendor choose to distribute a free version of its antivirus program.
It's always versions that offer a reduced set of features but who most often are more than good for the average private user.

But we suffered our ranking lists in order of importance some of the best antivirus free movement:

1. AVG Free
   It 'probably the best free antivirus exists: it is easy to install and configure that the updates are released almost daily frequency. Worthy of consideration is the fact that Grisoft, which the manufacturer has started to distribute free two other products aimed at the protection and safety:
   AVG Anti-Spyware and AVG Anti-Rootkit.
   The free software from Grisoft distribution can be used by private users on a single computer and not for commercial purposes.
2. ClamWin
   ClamWin is based on ClamAV, a popular open-source antivirus originally designed for UNIX environments. It is released under the GPL and thus also in this case it's perfectly acceptable for personal use and not commercial. The graphical interface is fairly Spartan and functionality that I hear most is the lack of automatic scanning system currently provides only the functionality of manual scan of files.
3. PC Tools Anti-Virus Free Edition 3.1
   With regard to the functionality provided is very similar to AVG: Provides the ability to scan manual and automatic schedule. It certainly makes it interesting that the non inpone constraints on commercial and therefore could be a product suitable for medium to small companies.

   Is distributed to all versions of Windows from Win98 to Windows Vista, but also supported the 64-bit operating system.
6. Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic
   It boasts 15 million users worldwide and offers basic protection that does not include the monitoring of email or protection against spyware. Is distributed to all versions of Windows from Win98 to Windows Vista.
7. BitDefender 8 Free Edition
   The free version of BitDefender only provides functionality Crawling manual file, even if there is a possibility to carry out the scheduling.
8. Google Pack
   Google Pack provides a set of excellent free tools designed to achieve maximum productivity from your computer. Initially among the tools provided there was a 'special edition of Norton Antivirus 2005, which was recently replaced with Norton Security Scan from Symantec and PC Tools Spyware Doctor from PC Tools.
   It does not offer protection "live" so these tools are used and understood as protection systems "on-demand" or working on scheduling.
9. TrendMicro HouseCall
   The particularity of this service is that it works entirely online. It is not necessary to install any software on your PC: on is a web based antivirus which comes either as ActiveX and as a Java applet, and then to work requires only a browser and an Internet connection.
   Clearly the most negative apsetto probably relates to scan performances that are certainly much worse than those that can be achieved with a tool installed on your PC.
10. VCatch Basic Version 5
    E 'perhaps the least known among the ones listed so far: it is a virus very small (just 1.9 MB) that provides a basic protection which also includes support attacks against P2P networks.
