Google Mars
In collaboration with NASA researchers Noel Gorelick and Michael Weiss-Malik of Arizona State University and using the marriage between technology Google Maps and the most 'detailed maps of the Red Planet never made the team at Google has built Google Mars.
The date of March 13, chosen for the launch of Google Mars is not accidental: March 13, 1855 was born because Percival Lowell, who in the last century gave a significant contribution to the study of the surface of Mars and was the first to achieve accurate and maps detailed.
Google Mars allows you to explore Mars three different ways through:
- "elevation map" that thanks to various colours highlights particularly the hills and valleys;
- a map carried out with all the photos available;
- a map that uses infrared photographs able to grasp what escapes the human eye
